The Human Design

In the journey of life, we often find ourselves at a crossroads between what is easy and what is right or “good.” While it may seem like a simple struggle of willpower, it actually reveals a deeper divide in how we understand comfort and time.

Essentially, there are two types of human beings: those who are conscientious and those who choose to go against their conscience. Understanding which path we are on—and why—can change the way we look at every decision we make.

The Design of the Conscience

Have you ever wondered…

…why we feel a “pull” toward doing the right thing? It’s because our conscience is inherently intelligent. It is designed to navigate us toward choices that lead to lasting peace and comfort.

Our conscience understands the Law of Karma: it knows that specific actions (good karma) are the only seeds that can grow into a life of tranquility. It isn’t just a moral compass; it is a long-term survival tool designed to ensure our internal well-being.

If the conscience is so intelligent, why do so many people ignore it?  The answer lies in the lure of the present moment.

The Trap of Short-Term Comfort

People who choose the “wrong” path are often focusing solely on immediate gratification.

  • The Illusion: Choosing the morally wrong but “comfortable” option often looks like the smart, easy move in the short term.
  • The Reality: This comfort is fragile and fleeting. While it feels good now, it inevitably brings pain and complication in the long run.

True intelligence requires being far-sighted. An intelligent person calculates the consequences, and is patient enough to realize that good karma brings peace—even if that result takes years to manifest. They are willing to accept discomfort today to secure a lifetime of peace tomorrow.

The Silent Reward: Doing Good Without Applause

A fascinating trait of the conscience is that it always aligns us toward the benefit of others. We find our deepest peace when we are of service.

However, real life can be a bit tricky. In a perfect world, your good choices would always be celebrated. In reality:

  • You may not be thanked.
  • Your efforts may go unnoticed.
  • You might even face opposition for doing what is right.

This happens because goodness is a natural part of being human. We shouldn’t expect extra attention or a “gold star” for making the right choice. The reward isn’t the appreciation of others; it is the internal peace that only a clear conscience can provide. 🤍

The Paradox: Why Being “Good” Isn’t “Selfless”

This brings us to a humbling realization. We often call people who follow their conscience “selfless” or “heroic.” But if we look closer, we realize that one cannot actually take pride in these choices.

Why? Because when you choose to do good, you are simply following your “design.” You are choosing the path that leads to your own peace, your own comfort, and your own positive karmic return.

In a way, being good is a form of enlightened self-interest.

  • You choose good because it feels better internally.
  • You choose good because you want a peaceful future.
  • You choose good because it is the most logical way to benefit yourself in the long run.

Therefore, there is no room for an “ego trip.” We aren’t being selfless; we are being smart. We are looking out for our own best interests by aligning ourselves with the creation’s design.

Being “Conscientious” is the Smartest Choice You Can Make

The Next Time..

…you feel the urge to follow your conscience, remember that you aren’t just doing a favour for the world—you are doing a favour for yourself. Listen to that inner intelligence. Choose the long-term peace over the short-term ease.

When we stop expecting the world to applaud us for being “good,” we find a much deeper, more stable kind of happiness. ✨
